Membership Guidelines and Benefits

Introduction
The Iron Indian Riders Association is a Family Oriented Motorcycle Riding Association that uses the Internet as one of its tools to communicate. The focus is on the Enjoyment and Fellowship of Riding Motorcycles while doing so safely. The Iron Indian Riders Association is not an Internet association for Motorcycle Enthusiasts but a Riders Association for people who love to ride.
Requirements, Guidelines and Benefits for an IIRA Member
A. General Information
The Iron Indian Riders Association, Corporation is the National and International Company which manages the Iron Indian Riders Association - a "Family Oriented" fraternity of Indian Motorcycle owners, riders and enthusiasts. Within the context of these Guidelines, the term IIRA will refer to the Iron Indian Riders Association (the riders group), and not the Iron Indian Riders Association, Corporation (the company). The Corporation is managed by a Board of Directors (3 members) and a management council known as the Tribal Council (which may be reduced or increased in number (based on need) by a majority vote of the members of the Tribal Council. - currently 5 members). All IIRA Chapters and Individual Memberships will comply with these Guidelines and Operating procedures and agree to be governed by the Board of Directors and Tribal Council. Note: The term "membership" in this and all succeeding sections refers to an individual's membership in the Iron Indian Riders Association (IIRA), not membership in the IIRA, Corporation.
B. IIRA Trademarks and Copyrights
The "Patch" design of the IIRA and the name "Iron Indian Riders" and "Iron Indian Riders Association" are the property of the IIRA, Corporation and are a Registered Trademark and as such are not to be reproduced for sale by anyone without the written permission of the Tribal Council.
C. IIRA Membership Types
(Membership benefits may be changed, added or removed at any time)
Membership in the IIRA is open to anyone with an interest in Indian Motorcycles regardless of race, creed or sex and all applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
The IIRA has three types of membership:
Full Member
Associate Member
Significant Other Membership
C2 Full Membership ($45 US per year)
A Full Member is any Motorcycle Owner who has applied to be a member of the IIRA and paid the appropriate membership fee. Applications may be filled out online or downloaded from the IIRA website at the following web page: http://www.ironindian.com. Full Membership benefits include; Roadside Assistance (RSA available within the US and Canada only), IIRA Membership Card, IIRA small vest patch, IIRA Pin (First year is the IIRA logo pin, each renewal thereafter member will get a "year" pin (Click here for a more detailed explination). Newsletter (mailed bulk rate in USA. Air mail outside USA) and additional benefits (see website).
C3 Associate Membership ($35 US per year) (not available to members outside of US)
Associate Members may or may not be owners of Motorcycles and paid the appropriate membership fee. Applications may be filled out online or downloaded from the IIRA website at the following web page: http://www.ironindian.com. Associate Membership benefits include; IIRA Membership Card, IIRA small vest patch, IIRA Pin (First year is the IIRA logo pin, each renewal thereafter member will get a "year" pin) Newsletter (mailed bulk rate in USA. Air mail outside USA) and additional benefits (see website).
C4 Significant Other Membership (available only for family members of a person who is already Full or Associate members) ($25 US per year)
Significant Other Membership are not owners of Motorcycles. They are family members of motorcycle owners and have paid the appropriate membership fee. Applications may be filled out online or downloaded from the IIRA website at the following web page: http://www.ironindian.com. Significant Other Membership benefits include; IIRA Membership Card, IIRA small vest patch, IIRA Pin (First year is the IIRA logo pin, each renewal thereafter member will get a "year" pin) and additional benefits (see website).
A Significant Other Membership has all the rights and privileges of a full member or Associate Membership except that they may not be a National Officer or Chapter Officer.
D. Membership Fees and Benefits

The Membership fee may be adjusted up or down as required by a majority vote of the Tribal Council. Any fee adjustment will be reflected when the membership is up for renewal. Memberships are renewed yearly on the membership anniversary date.
A membership in the IIRA currently entitles the member to receive the following membership items based on the level of membership the member purchased: IIRA Membership Card
Road Side Assistance program within the US and Canada
IIRA vest pocket Patch
IIRA Pin
IIRA Newsletter
Additional benefits (see IIRA website for a listing)
Benefits may be added or removed by a majority vote of the Tribal Council. Members will not be reimbursed for the cost of an existing benefit which has been terminated.
E. The IIRA Members "Code of Conduct"
IIRA members are responsible for maintaining a good public image and perception of the IIRA and motorcycling in general. An IIRA member should not publicly make any statements in any form of communication or commit an act that portrays the IIRA, an IIRA Chapter or any of its members in a negative or unfavorable manner.
Every member of the IIRA should strive to improve the association and fellowship through common courtesy and respect for IIRA's general members, representatives and officers. An IIRA member should not make any statement or commit any act which would cause his/her fellowship to be called into question. Treat everyone with respect.
If an IIRA member has an issue with another member, a chapter or the national organization the member should contact a chapter officer or a national officer privately to discuss that matter.
F. Removal of an IIRA Member
1: An IIRA Member may have their membership terminated, suspended or non-renewed. Only the Tribal Council, by majority vote of the Tribal Council, can suspend, terminate or non-renew an IIRA member. These actions are not taken lightly and are to be undertaken in the best interest of IIRA. An IIRA member in good standing can resign their membership at any time by sending a letter of resignation to the Tribal Council.
2: In addition, an IIRA Member can be terminated or suspended under the following conditions
a: Failure to pay the Membership fee or Annual Dues
b: A petition by the members Chapter Charter Holder to suspend or terminate the member for cause (the Tribal Council will contact the members Chapter Charter Holder and member prior to making any ruling)
In all cases, the Tribal Council will evaluate the situation and notify the member of its decision.
All Petitions from the Chapter Charter Holder sent to the Tribal Council for review will be kept confidential and will not be released to the Public or the IIRA membership. This gives the Chapter Charter Holder the opportunity to file a complaint without being subjected to public controversy. The content and context of petitions will only be shared with the Chapter Charter Holder, the Tribal Council and the IIRA Member.
G. IIRA Patch Requirements
The IIRA Back Patch, as worn on a vest or jacket shall be placed on the upper half of the back of the vest or jacket. Absolutely No three-piece patches are permitted in the IIRA. No Member of the IIRA shall ever add the letters "MC" or wear the designation "1%" on their vest, jacket or any other article of clothing while representing the IIRA. No Rockers or Chapter Location Bars (CLB's) should ever be worn with a City, State or any other markings that identifies a Territory on the back of the vest or jacket.
The IIRA small Patch should be placed on the upper left front of a vest or jacket or on the left sleeve of a jacket.
